​Weld Modelling & Automation

Overview

Our optimised fabrication of titanium fan / compressor structures and nickel-based turbine structures, realized through our advanced computer weld modelling, makes these structures 10-15% lighter than conventional single-piece castings.

We have developed our fabrication processes to high levels of automation to reduce costs and improve robustness, as well as enabling technology for achieving the most optimised fabrication concepts, many of which are not possible to weld manually.

Since it is more material-efficient and timesaving to add stock instead of machining it down, we utilise metal deposition, using powder or wire, to build features like flanges and bosses. This also ensures stronger and lighter structures.
